This paper presents religious ‘we’ as plural and concurrent ways of defining religious community. Narratives act at plural scales with diversifying indirectness levels. Scalar and indirect nature of narratives are employed for institutional performance. Disalignment from figures of personhood produces moral norms for behavior. These norms permit personal, but not systemic, resistance to LGB + exclusion.
