Annotation

Benedetto Croce's expression and Roy Harris' sign are both considered as radically indeterminate. Both Croce and Harris acknowledged that academic linguists are pushed by scientism. An idealist view of art and history cannot be reconciled with an integrationist conception. While supporting the same semiological thesis, Croce and Harris adopt distinct communication theories. Harris' integrationist semiology is anchored in the belief that human communication is always fixed in detail.
