This paper assays the way in which code-switching (CS) is transferred into a target text (TT), looking at the translation strategies for CS in a non-European source text (ST) into European and non-European target texts. The chief goal of this paper is to display how code-switching in literary paradigms can be translated into a target text language, and to what degree the original structure of instances of CS is preserved, altered or even removed in the target texts.
