This study presents a survey of present Francoprovençal (FP) vitality in all regions where it is spoken, in both Europe and North America. For each region, it proposes a resume of the linguistic history, actual glottopolitical status of FP and demographic information. It describes each variety’s vitality, employing Brenzinger et al.’s (2003, Language vitality and endangerment. Paris: UNESCO Expert Meeting on Safeguarding Endangered Languages) UNESCO scale.
