Annotation

This study presents a sociolinguistic survey of Francoprovençal (FP) in northwestern Italy. Some facets of the vitality of FP in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta, and the linguistic repertoires of the two communities, are outlined in the first part of the study, while a selection of phenomena deriving from contact between FP and Piedmontese is debated in the second.
