This study explores contact effects between Francoprovençal varieties at a micro-linguistic level. These varieties are part of Francoprovençal speaker’s (native or not) diurnal communicative practices. From the anthropologist’s perspective, the domain's fragmentation is not static. Fragmentation can be employed as a base to examine linguistic dynamics inside the speakers’ community, by assaying the structure of linguistic exchanges and also by considering their many strategies of cross-understanding, the expression of speaker identity and their language representations.
