This study presents a hypothetical three-step process toward the solution of underspecified abstract object anaphors by hearers in discourse. Possible antecedents for any underspecified abstract anaphor may cover atomic propositions and intricate abstract referents that result from a merged interpretation of various propositions that are thematically linked.
