Annotation

Most ethnic minority students in mainland China currently face the challenge of learning three languages in schools, viz, their home language (L1), Mandarin Chinese (L2) and a foreign language, generally English (L3). This article presents a survey of recent research, representing major models assumed by minority schools and the contextual factors inducing the models in different minority regions in China.
