This study collates and opposes outcomes from two ethnographically based research projects, displaying that immigrants integrating in the two bilingual host community sub-state contexts of Galicia and Wales are defying traditional notions of novel speakers of minority languages, unlocking novel ways of belonging and also unveiling limits to their pathways of growing legitimate novel speakers.
