Annotation

This inquiry explores comments on the physical environs while a group of people are mucking out a sheep stable. In this scenery, where the auditory space is mostly open for talk, some comments cast a conversational sequence, while others are handled as self-talk. The paper debates how the speaker’s bodily posture, speech volume, and gaze, and the referent's nature, add to drawing a reply.
