Annotation

This paper assays how the Danish penal system employs pre-sentence reports to construct defendants as persons relative to their unlawful acts. Social knowledge about the defendant is transferred to legal actors and employed by them in the sentencing process. This occurs via the interaction amid standardized information, exceptional clues and elision of notable details.
