This paper rests on an empirical inquiry on the generation of discourses for the European Parliament elections campaign. Employing a multilevel contextual approach joins notable components to the research findings, especially in terms of displaying on the one hand how power relations within ‘Europarties’ ends in the erection of general European identities in various European Union (EU) states, and on the other hand how political communication professionalization strengthens discursive differences between parties of the same ideological family in various EU states.
