Annotation

This paper explores how Spanish and Japanese secondary school Social Science textbooks discursively render Europe and Asia, and how the national perspective from each country is shown in that representation. In both countries’ textbooks, Europe is mainly rendered in a positive (/idealized) manner as a developed and wealthy region, whereas Asia holds an opposite negative image.
