Annotation

This paper uses South African census data and qualitative fieldwork data to examine the way in which Zimbabwean migrants employ languages to lay hold on spaces for themselves in Johannesburg CBD. It displays how the association between language and ethnicity is moderated by geographic location and social position within the city.
