Annotation

This article centers on an underresearched sociolinguistic variable: the employment of proper names in contrast to kin terms in address. It claims that the referential and semantic features of kin terms and names inspires culturally grounded, yet convergent, conceptualizations of kin terms as honorific and names as anti‐honorific.
