This paper explores the image transformation of the Chinese government in the translating of its Annual Work Reports (AWR) into English from a diachronic viewpoint. It mentions the constant agency shifts in this translating process. These shifts are more probably to be ideologically inspired than the outcome of linguistic constraints.
