This study deals with historical paths for recovering an aboriginal identity in (mental) health interventions for Aotearoa/New Zealand, adressing Māori values, biculturalism, and multiculturalism. Aboriginal values are proposed as aboriginal notions in mental healt therapy, and related to current government and tribe plans to better (mental) health for Māori via diverse performance paths implying more collectivistic structures.
