Annotation

This study found that people in a psychological condition of high power -as collated to low power– assessed insulting jokes as less unfitting, less insolent, and more comic. Mediation analyses showed that power increased the funniness of offensive jokes through decreasing the perceived inappropriateness of these jokes. Implications for research on power and humor are discussed.
