This study evaluated the postulate that group norms would impact humor estimation, specifically on ingroup scornful humor. 195 partakers were exposed to two humor conditions (neutral or ingroup scornful humor) and to two group norms concerning humor estimation (fostering or refusing). Findings indicate that group norms operate as notable contextual information that impacts scornful humor estimation.
