This inquiry explores the sequential organization of salutes in relation to gaze conduct in service encounters in Swedish's two national varieties: Sweden Swedish spoken in Sweden and Finland Swedish spoken in Finland. It should conduce to the variational pragmatics domain and to pluricentric theory evolution.
