Pragmatic theory and philosophy of language are reciprocally pertinent and intrinsically interlinked. The chief question this article handles is how precisely they are interlinked in terms of (i) their respective aims, (ii) explanans – explanandum link, (iii) research approaches, and (iv) using related disciplines.
