This paper explored the directness mode of requests and refusals and the background variables that clarify this production in two trilingual populations in Israel (i.e. native Arabic speakers for whom English is a L3, and Hebrew, a L2, and native Hebrew speakers for whom English is a L2 and another language is their L3).
