Contributors to the 2016 Special Issue of Discourse Studies on the ‘Epistemics of Epistemics’ (EoE) assert that research on epistemics in interaction (how partakers show orientations to their own and others’ knowledge states) has lost the ‘radical’ quality of groundbreaking work in ethnomethodology (EM) and conversation analysis (CA).
