Under the ideological interest imparted to English by the Ismaili community’s spiritual leader, the Aga Khan IV, transnational scaling is explored via the window of discourse on English. Specifically, the article assays how Ismailis in two localities in Northern Pakistan and Eastern Tajikistan usurp the Aga Khan’s English as a “second language” policy.
