Annotation

Speech disfluency in first language (L1) and second language (L2) is quantitatively and qualitatively distinct. This inquiry explored the link between pause phenomena and observed fluency. Listeners appear sensitive to pause location and grasp that pauses within clauses are inclined to echo lowered cognitive fluency.
