M. argues (i) that the current accounts of the nature of the formal approach that hope to show its fruitlessness for the study of natural language, are misguided, and (ii) that some recent developments in the formal approach should be very suggestive to those who adopt other approaches. (One of the notions touched upon is 'presupposition').
