This assay explores French grammatical gender learning by German L1 children (age of onset of acquisition (AO) 2;8-4,0). The assay of untaught production data of 24 children collected longitudinally and a gender assignment test applied to some of the children at other ages elicited that AO is a key factor fixing serial language acquisition.
