Annotation

This study uses a relevance-theoretic method in the debate on visual and multimodal argumentation with a special emphasis on the role of onomatopoeia (O). To explore the potential device by which persuasion acts via O, it assays a manga (viz. Japanese-style comics) corpus, where visuals and verbal text interact to transfer O.
