The finite verb typically happens in second position in main clauses in Germanic languages other than English. The odds between a V2- and a non-V2 language is displayed with Icelandic models and English glosses. This paper debates the impact of keen language contact on the two V2-order types in North American Icelandic, a heritage language spoken in ex Icelandic conclaves in North America.
