This paper limns RoastMe, a spur of the traditional roast. RoastMe is a social media practice included in a humorous frame and based on ritual insults. RoastMe insults aiming at a roastee are innately creative and amusement-oriented; they also propose mock impoliteness, targeting solidarity. They should not programmatically offend but may be viewed as offensive.
