Annotation

Turn allocation in accompanied medical consultations in China works at two levels: between parties and within a party. The talk division within the therapy-seeking party between the patient and the companion differs from phase to phase. The intra-party turn allocation is implicitly or openly parleyed between the patient and the companion impacted by a set of factors, like sick role-triggered activity transfer, coalition to offset power asymmetry, and epistemic gradient.
