In the last 50 years, Pragmatics has grown into a successful interdisciplinary research domain, yet with some inner fragmentation. Pragmatics has to think about its future core research profile. It is presented that meaning-making in dynamic linguistic interaction should be the central focus in future pragmatic inquiry. Philosophical work on participatory sense-making can add to Pragmatics' presented core profile.
