In/civility is wider than im/politeness including a lot that is non-verbal. Language use may be impolite but not uncivil, particularly in political discourse. In/civility is tightly linked to morality rather than only to the moral order. Civil interaction fosters democratic aims. The study of im/politeness and in/civility needs disciplinary co-operation.
