This article centers on the ayyu, a brief impromptu oral poetic genre common amid the northern Moroccon Jbala people. It explores the usual repertoire of two Jbala singers, and displays how they link certain frames to certain organizational orders and formulaic phrases. It assays klam, or utterances, put in the middle or set in the end of ayyus, that, though notable, are overjumped in dictated or edited lections of these poems.
