People who spent time in public care as children are oft proposed as ‘care leavers’. This study explores how ‘care leaver’ is discursively framed as a group identity, by assaying 18 written personal experience stories from diverse charity websites by people distinguished or who self-distinguish as care leavers. Several methods to narrative analysis are used and their findings joint.
