This paper uses a lexical-grammatical method to examine the evaluation of human conduct and/or character. It employs adjective complementation patterns as the base to explore the lexical-grammatical means at risk in the judgement appraisal system, intending to inquire the level at which we can come at the same categorization of the means actualizing judgement if a formal or lexical-grammatical method, rather than a discourse-semantic one, is used.
