This paper examines the warily controlled semiotic complex found in the Corsican village of Pigna with respect to the topics of pride and profit in the appraisal of minority languages. It is related to an attempt to put Corsican linguistic and musical heritage in novel practices that both produce place and integrate tradition and modernity. The paper also handles language revitalization.
