This article examines hostile stances towards discerned raised multilingualism and multiculturalism put in the BBC’s Have Your Say Internet forum. In view of these ‘folk-sociolinguistic’ hypotheses and linguaphobic stances, the super-diversity concept has to be reconfigured so as to cover the (unintended) hurtful affect of the migration-caused raise in the diversity and ravel of imagined ethno-linguistic identities.
