This article revises extant inquiry and used research methods on nonnative English teacher identity in L2 school contexts from 2008 to 2017. It calls for a transformative and action-oriented access that can examine efficient modes to aid identity growth for NNESTs and teachers of diverse linguistic, sociocultural and subject backcloths.
