This paper debates the ravel in ironic echoic mention from the viewpoint of Cognitive Linguistics. It draws on the scenario-based access to irony where ironic meaning is handled as a contextually adjustable meaning inference flowing from an impact between an echoed and an observed scenario. The paper debates five ways of induing the ironic echo with ravel.
