The processing trouble of each word one meets in a sentence is impacted by both previous linguistic experience and general world knowledge. This study evolves an incremental model of language comprehension that builds rich, probabilistic situation model representations. Simulations are proposed that show that linguistic experience and world knowledge are integrated in the model at the level of interpretation and combine in defining online expectations.
