Annotation

This paper examines the roles of language and body in the iconization of cross-modal personae (see Agha 2003, 2004). Centering on a radical drag queen commune in San Francisco, it assays the interaction of visual presentation and acoustic /s/ dimensions in the building of the fierce queen persona.
