This inquiry explores how sociable eating is teamwise and multimodally attained in mukbang, a Korean livestream of eating. Assaying 76 mukbang clips, it finds that mukbang partakers order their actions via speech, written text, and embodied acts, and that this coordination produces participation and, by extension, effects both community and social agency.
