This paper explores how communicative resources impact the building of plausible texts and identities in a public discussion on Australia's handling of a Somali fugitive. It finds disparities on all four resource levels that mostly subvert the fugitive's skill to submit a plausible text and identity and defy mainstream discourse on fugitives.
