Annotation

This inquiry explores whether forward non-native speakers (NNSs) also display processing benefits for non-adjacent collocations (Cs) as NSs do. Forty forward NNSs of English read Cs in either adjacent or non-adjacent conditions, and their eye movements were registered. NNSs read adjacent (yet not non-adjacent) Cs faster than non-formulaic controls.
