This inquiry explores the impact of urbanization on ethnolinguistic limits in Subsaharan African postcolonial settings employing as a case study Namibia, an ethnically varied country where indigenous languages co-exist with English and Afrikaans, the country's two lingua francas. It is displayed that respondents discern a sociolinguistic urban/rural divide. This study further handles language-mixing and language loss, and (non-)standard varieties of Afrikaans and English.
