Annotation

By exploring a small number of notorious courtroom comedies, this paper inquires how these films oft employ an improbable character, an outsider and an underdog in terms of class or education who is unfit to cling to the rules of judiciary procedures. Whilst this outsider is there to be laughed at, humor also appears from the ridicule of many aspects of the legal system and particularly of legalese.
