Annotation

This inquiry collects data from 20 homes from 2 geographically and socio-economically diverse urban communities in Accra. Results display that educational background, economic status, age, and inter-ethnic marriages are the chief factors affecting the selection of English as a home language in urban Ghana. Other factors, like the language in education policies, the use of the internet and the media, also play a role in the employment of English in Ghanaian homes.
