The nontopical hashtag #justsaying is one of Twitter’s global stock hashtags and turns out to accomplish an intricate set of metapragmatic framing functions. This article considers Dutch-language tweets in which the hashtag is being employed as a wholly enregistered ‘translingual’ framing device, and tries an assay centered on the specific sorts of communicative actions it marks and organises.
