A Grade 4 English language teacher in a township school in Cape Town, South Africa, in her search to fit out learners with novel target language resources, is not stopped by the perceived limits dividing named languages, and uses language in creative and goal-directed manners. Pivotal to this paper is the incipient concept of translanguaging.
